Siirto

What is it?
Siirto is a Finnish payment method enabled by the mobile apps of locally connected banks – such as Nordea Siirto, OP-mobiili and Pivo. Users can make real-time transfers to one another through the mobile phone numbers connected to their Siirto account. They can also pay for their purchases in both physical or online stores with a simple swipe of approval on their smartphones.

Why accept payments with Siirto
Siirto users can pay directly from their bank accounts, since the payment method is based on real time account-to-account payments through the available apps. This is very relevant, since bank account payments are considered one of the most convenient online payment methods among Finnish consumers.
Merchants can also benefit from the account-to-account technology of Siirto compared to other card-based mobile payments. With Siirto, merchants have lower transaction costs and they don’t need to pay for additional acquiring costs for underlying card payments.

A perspective
Siirto has over a million registered users and is available to customers of all Finnish banks through their available mobile apps.
Siirto payments are available in Finland and for payments between Finnish bank accounts. It only operates in euros (EUR).
